Traditional Japanese village located in Fujikawaguchiko Town, known as the most beautiful village in Japan, a picturesque spot with Mt. Fuji in the background. Destroyed by a landslide during a typhoon in 1966, it was reconstructed and reopened as an open-air museum and traditional craft village in 2006. Stroll through this ancient village, and marvel at the unique "armour structure" houses created by the villagers to resist the severe winter snow. Take a closer look at the thatched roofs and experience its liveable characteristics of being warm in winter and cool in summer. Standing at the viewing point, overlooking Mount Fuji in the distance, the mountain peak and the roof complement each other, forming a beautiful picture.
Lake Kawaguchiko
