What you can expect

Muay Thai, often referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” is Thailand's traditional martial art and national sport, renowned for its striking techniques and rich cultural heritage. This combat sport utilises punches, kicks, elbows, and knees, making it a dynamic and effective form of self-defense and athletic competition.

Thailand's National Sport, Muay Thai or Thai Boxing, is a unique form of martial art with a history that dates back centuries. Few national sports are as highly revered as Muay Thai. Therefore, the combination of respect and heritage throughout the night mixed with the excitement and thrills of real, professional Thai boxing bouts makes for a night of entertainment that you'll never forget.

At the beginning of each match, fighters enter the ring to perform the traditional rituals of Wai Khrun (paying respect to their trainers) and Ram Muay (warming up, and showing off, their bodies) to the sound of drums, flutes, and crashing symbols. This hypnotic music then continues during the bout, although it cannot drown out the crowd's whistles and shouts and banters as they urge on their favourite fighter.

Muay Thai is referred to as “The Art of Eight Limbs”, as the hands, shins, elbows and knees are the eight points of contact used extensively, as opposed to in the west where only 2 fists are used in a match.

It has often been said that watching a Muay Thai fight is a must-do for every sports fan looking for a real Thai experience.

Choose from Grand Stand seating, Ringside seating and VIP Extra seating at Chiang Mai's biggest and best boxing stadium, the only stadium to have indoor air-conditioning plus a sound system. To make the evening perfect for you, return hotel transport is included in the tour cost.

Muay Thai is more than just a sport; it is a symbol of Thai identity and pride. It embodies the spirit of perseverance, respect, and honour, making it a beloved practice among both locals and international fans alike. Whether participating in training or witnessing a live match, experiencing Muay Thai offers a unique insight into Thailand's cultural heritage and athletic prowess.
