Discover one of the most unspoiled beaches in the Paraty area on this 6-hour tour to Sono Beach. Hike through preserved Atlantic forest, and enjoy free time on the beach to swim and relax.
Begin your day by meeting your guide at the meeting point, then take a short walk up to the bus station. From there, hop on a regular public bus from Paraty to the village of Laranjeiras, a 28-kilometer (17-mile) journey that takes about 40 minutes.
Upon arrival, take the trail to Sono Beach, which takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Observe bird species in the Atlantic forest and delight in incredible panoramic views of the beach from the viewpoints found along the trail.
Find a typical fishing village as you arrive at Sono Beach. See a waterfront shaded by native almond trees beside the houses and fishing boats of the locals, known as caiçaras, that live there.
Now it's time to relax in a perfect setting for an afternoon of rest, sunbathing, and swimming in the blue sea. Enjoy a home-cooked lunch at one of the local kiosks (not included in the tour price), or opt to take a further trail to the deserted Antigos Beach. Admire breathtaking views of the entire region at the top of this steep, moderate-high level 40-minute trail.
To conclude your tour, hike back to the village of Laranjeiras along the same trail, and then take the regular public bus again to return to the meeting point in Paraty.
