I will welcome you in the oldest point of Parma, beginning of its history and our experience!
A smile, a handshake and a very special bag with inside your tasting kit of typical delicatessen (so selectioned by the best producers) await you and from here we will start with our cultural walk along the thistle and decumanus. I will be your Cicero to discover the historic centre from the Middle Ages to today: do the 'image detective', compare historical photos and current monuments and immortalise what you will meet more curious while I talk to you with idioms in dialect and anecdotes to discover the city! I will tell you stories, legends and oddities about the most significant monuments discovering together local rarities that only a local person can point you!
Itinerary:
1) Ancient Roman bridge: first hidden place, stories of Celts and rivers. First taste.
2) Piazza Ghiaia and historical market: dialect and local customs.
3) External Pilotta building: we talk about Renaissance, World War II and…statues lost! Second taste.
4) Piazzale della Pace and the 'scars'
5) Post office: second hidden place, what you do not expect!
6) Street Duomo: stop in front of the producer of Parmigiano cheese (Third tasting)
7) Cathedral (we enter): open to wonder!
8) Via Cavour and Piazza Garibaldi: changes of the city, strange stories and conclusion with last taste
