You will begin from the main entrance of the Visconti Castle, an impressive building with two front towers commissioned by Galeazzo II Visconti in 1360. Immerse yourself in its garden and with the splendid moat that frames it.
See why Visconti Castle holds the splendid seat of a refined court, with large external mullioned windows, a splendid central courtyard, and frescoed rooms in Gothic style.
Visit the Castle of Pavia, which houses the Civic Museums. Walk to the archaeological section full of rare finds from some ancient churches of the city. You will continue towards the Romanesque and Renaissance sections where you can admire precious statues, capitals, sculptures, and mosaics.
On the second floor, you will visit the Malaspina Art Gallery, the masterpieces of great Italian and foreign artists: Tiepolo to Antonello da Messina, Correggio, and Francesco Heyes. See the wooden model of the Cathedral of Pavia, one of the most grandiose Renaissance wooden models still preserved.
The visit ends with the court library, the picture gallery, and the walk through the loggia that surrounds the central courtyard full of medieval-style frescoes.
