You will start the tour by visiting Conserveira do Arade, a former can industry that revived the canned sardines with an artisanal process, using glass jars and no longer in tins, and with an innovative twist of flavours. After visiting the fabric and understanding the production process, savour some preserved sardines, tuna and mackerel.
Then you will visit the charming village of Ferragudo with the fishermen working on the nets by the river, and a beautiful viewpoint to the Arade river.
The tour continues in the neighborly city of Portimão, in the other side of the river, for a visit to the exhibition on the canning industry at the Portimão Museum, which was actually built in an old canning factory, next to the dock where the fish was unloaded.
Finish in great style, tasting delicious tapas made using tinned fish, in the gourmet shop and restaurant Maria do Mar.
