The town of Chucuito has a vast Inca and colonial history that we will discover today. Its importance during the Viceroyalty lay in the fact that it was the headquarters of the royal coffers, a place where tax collectors worked due to its proximity to the silver mines. Today its churches and its Plaza de Armas are examples of that past, as well as its sundial, made of stone and which was a point of reference during the colony for the reading and proclamation of laws. Further back in time, during the Inca period, Chucuito housed the Inca Uyo, a temple dedicated to fertility where offerings were made so that the land would be generous to farmers. Today many people come to give thanks and ask for their own fertility, visiting the site that houses around 80 stone phalluses of different sizes. In addition, we will visit a trout farm and then say goodbye to this landscape full of history and beauty.
