What you can expect

Step into the pages of a Bavarian storybook as you venture to the fairytale castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Palace. Discover the magic of these royal estates, dreamed up by reclusive King Ludwig II, as you admire the architecture that inspired Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Hop aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned bus in Munich and set off into the German countryside. Arrive at Linderhof Palace, a spectacular Rococo estate set amid manicured formal gardens and fountains. Inspired by Versailles, this gem-like castle features its own Hall of Mirrors. Hear about King Ludwig's visions of grandeur, and why this castle was the only one the “Swan King” ever saw completed.

Continue on to the town of Oberammergau, a jewel-box village perched in the Bavarian Alps. Stop to shop, stroll, and grab a bite to eat if you'd like before the drive to Neuschwanstein Castle. This incredible Romanesque Revival palace balances high atop a rugged hill, on the former ruins of 2 medieval castles. Spend a full 4 hours at the castle, where King Ludwig imagined himself living out his luxurious version of a Middle Ages lifestyle, before beginning the journey back to Munich.
