Uncover Capay Valley, an undiscovered gem right in Sacramento’s backyard, in Yolo County. It is the home of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and to some of the richest soil in the world. The valley is home to world-class farms that produce everything from fruit and nuts to award winning olive oil and wine.
Start at Capay Valley Lavender, a farm nestled in the rolling Capay hills. You will embark on a tour of this fragrant organic farm by the farmHER herself and learn about about farming lavender and how essential oil is made, all while enjoying some lavender lemonade and lavender baked goods.
From there, head down the road to the charming Taber Ranch Vineyards and tour the gardens. You will relax in the homely outdoor breezeway tasting room and enjoy a wine tasting and wood-fired pizza, with seasonal ingredients.
Next, we will continue a little further up the road to Seka Hills Olive Mill and Tasting Room. Here, learn about the Yocha Dehe tribe and how they are managing the land that their ancestors inhabited centuries ago.
You will taste a variety of their award winning olive oils, vinegars, and other estate products. Then, relax on their beautiful outdoor patio with views of the hills and olive groves as you enjoy a charcuterie plate and glass of wine.
