We are located on the border between Anglona and Gallura, two historic regions of Sardinia, where grandiose nature is the scene of one of the most beautiful hike in Sardinia.
Here is Mount Ruiu, a fabulous mountain that strikes and amazes the visitor with the red colour of the rocks tormented by atmospheric agents that parade in a catwalk of extraordinary beauty.
The absolute protagonist is red porphyry, a very hard effusive magmatic rock which has a structure closely related to granite.
Large cracks (diaclasis), tafoni, holes in the rock, pinnacles that rise slenderly into the sky characterise a lively territory with a still wild and rugged appearance where the red colours of the rock and green of the vegetation occupy every little space.
As if that wasn't enough, the Coghinas River passes through the slopes of the mountain and creates an artificial lake thanks to a dam, giving an extra touch of beauty to an already perfect picture.
With an amazing circular tour it is possible to enter this picture by passing through places that are apparently impossible but which instead always allow passage without the help of tools such as ropes or harnesses.
You pass through a forest of spectacular spiers, inside gigantic cracks, on ledges that leave space only for your boots, always taking advantage of the obligatory passages that nature seems to have granted to man in order to enter this red paradise.
You are dazzled by an exaggerated, almost surreal beauty that takes your breath away, hypnotic and amazes at every step!
An enthralling path with no dead spots where the use of your hands is very often necessary for progression.
