On this half-day tour, you will be able to see and learn more about the traditional fishing village of Sesimbra.
Famous for its beaches and also for its fresh fish (straight from the sea to the table), the first stop on our tour is precisely at the harbour, where we present a little more about the history and life of the village and where we can observe some fishing boats.
We continue to the highest point to see the “Castelo dos Mouros”. In this medieval castle, we can walk around its walls, visit the church and experience the best view of the village and the sea (time for photographs!).
The visit continues to the westernmost point of the Arrábida Natural Park, the Cape Espichel. A unique architectural and religious complex that rises above the highest cliffs and the sea.
In the second part of the tour we visit some of the beaches on the west coast, each with its own unique characteristics.
Starting with Foz beach, located in a cove and for many years only locals knew about its existence, Bicas beach located between impressive cliffs, known for being a quieter beach, with an extensive sandy beach and some waves for the surfing practice, it also houses the officially naturist beach of Rio da Prata.
Finally, the Albufeira lagoon, a small hidden treasure that combines sea and lagoon in a unique setting. It is considered the deepest lagoon in Portugal.
Given its characteristics and biodiversity, it is a paradise for bird watchers, offering routes and observatories to appreciate a wide variety of birds that live and nest in the lagoon. The calm waters and wind also provide ideal conditions for windsurfing, kitesurfing and other water sports.
This entire experience could only be enhanced by having a guide/driver who was born and lived his entire life in Sesimbra, and who takes great pride in showing those who visit us the wonders of his homeland.
