This urban hike located only several minutes from city centre Silver City allows visitors to explore a microcosm of what makes the desert Southwest unique. On this 2-mile hike you will explore changing vegetation starting with views of the Silver City Range and Bear Mountain from 5,900 feet. You will descend 250 feet to year-round waters of San Vicente Creek and experience shifts from juniper-grassland, through mixed-oak forests, to mature cottonwood stands.
Our guides are knowledgeable of the vegetation and wildlife you are likely to see along the way. You will meet your guide at the Murray Ryan Visitor Centre and then carpool or shuttle to the trail-head location. Your guide will carry your water and/or snacks as needed after a brief orientation to the trail and Leave no Trace principles.
