Venture to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue on top of Corcovado Mountain. Ride the Cosme Velho cog train and pass through the Tijuca rainforest on your way up to the base of the statue, where you can take in sweeping views over Guanabara Bay and Rio’s city centre sprawl.

After being picked up from your hotel, head to Maracanã Stadium to see the outside of the worldwide famous stadium. The main stadium in the country, Maracanã has hosted two world cup finals as well as a number of events during the Rio2016 Olympics and it is a must-see for any sports fan. From there on to Cosme Velho at the base of Corcovado.

This charming area has an old-world feel and it's where you board the 1885 cogwheel train with Skip the Line pre-reserved tickets for your climb up to the summit. Enjoy the views of the densely forested hillside, tropical plants, and Ipanema down below as the train makes its steep ascent towards the feet of Christ the Redeemer.

Perched atop Corcovado’s 2,300-foot (690-m) peak, the landmark Cristo Redentor statue stands a towering 100 feet (30 m) tall with his arms stretching out over the city below. Gaze down at Rio’s clustered areas, white swaths of beach, Guanabara Bay, and Sugarloaf Mountain from this spectacular vantage point before your return trip on the train to then head back to your hotel.
