What you can expect

Visit Fátima, the site of the purported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917, and then continue to the charming fishing village of Nazaré, and then to the medieval village of Óbidos. At each location, a knowledgeable guide immerses you in the region's fascinating history.

Get picked up from your hotel and drive through Portugal to reach Fátima. Learn about the history of the shepherd children who reported repeated sightings of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Have a chance to admire the world-famous shrine at Our Lady of Fátima, and then visit the house where the shepherd children grew up.

Eat lunch before you travel to the fishing village of Nazaré, itself known for an appearance of the Virgin Mary in 1182. Continue to Óbidos, famous for its regal hill-top castle and distinctive cherry liquor. Afterwards, say goodbye to your guide as you get dropped off back at your hotel in Lisbon or Cascais.
