In this glacier adventure you visit an ice cave in Falljokull glacier however to get to the ice cave you will need to take a short hike as it is located quite high on the glacier. Falljokull glacier is an outlet glacier from the Vatnajokull icecap which is actually the largest glacier in Europe.

Your journey starts at the Arctic Adventures booking hut located in the car park for Skaftafell National Park. Please make sure that you arrive at our booking hut at least 30 minutes before your departure time as this tour is not something you want to miss out on. The bus will leave from Skaftafell car park and drive a scenic route for about 15 minutes to get to Falljokull glacier. Once everyone is out of the bus the certified glacier guide will provide you with a safety briefing and instructions for all of the equipment used in this tour, no worries, we will provide you with all the necessary equipment you will need for Falljokull.

You set out for a short hike and ice cave exploration to a cave that is specially selected each time by our glacier guides as they need to take in safety factors and conditions of the area every time. As this is an easy hike this tour only requires a reasonably physical shape.
In the right conditions you will be able to see some amazing blue colours come through the ice. After about 15-20 minutes of exploring and taking in the cave we will make our way back over the glacier and ice rugged landscape.
