Come join the Captain and Crew aboard the River Explorer as they depart River Street in search of the local Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins! On this tour you will learn the history of Savannah and its surrounding waterways by your Captain and First Mate. This tour will cover all aspects of our Lowcountry ecosystem and will conclude with a picturesque sunset view of Savannah as we make our way up the river to port. This tour is fun for all ages

  • The River Explorer vessel does have a few steps up to the boat to board. This is why we are not wheelchair accessible along with the cobble stone you would need to cross on River Street to the dock.

Activity itinerary

The Waving Girl Statue (Pass by)
As we make our way out see see the Dolphins we will cruise past the famous Waving Girl Statue rom the water for a great photo opportunity.
Talmadge Memorial Bridge (Pass by)
Depending on our route we will either cruise under or away from the Talmadge Memorial Bridge which is the gateway into the Port of Savannah.

One of the best tours I have ever been on Cpt. Birdy was the BEST! Saw a number of dolphins and birds, the crew nd captain were very knowledgeable about the area and the eco system of the tour. Great music, great crew, great education, great time!! The best $$ ever spent, loved every minute! Thanks for such a great time!

The crew, Steven and Connor were very knowledgeable about local history and wildlife, especially dolphins and were very friendly and took loads of great photos of everyone. We saw dolphins and a bald eagle and the sunset at the famous waterfront and bridge was gorgeous! We would definitely recommend this eco-sunset boat tour!

We saw a lots of dolphins and our guide is as sweet as the waving girl of Savannah! We had a beautiful time. The trip on water with the view of salt marsh, harbor and industries is already stunning, the birds add lively hood to that. I am compared by how nature and human industries got along together so well in such a large harbor.

It was a lot of fun. Our captain was very knowledgeable and fun. We did see lots of dolphins . We got lots of information on the waving girl that we had been curious about. A definite must to do!

Great time on Savannah River.. You get on the river views of Savannah harbor, River street, container and bulk carrier ships coming and going, and lots of dolphins and birds. Plus the crew is amazing with local lore and great interaction with the passengers.
