Introduction and equipment: A surf lesson usually begins with a brief introduction to the sport and the basics of surfing. Stretching and Warming Up: Before entering the water, it is essential to do some stretching and a light warm-up to prepare your muscles for the physical activity. Safety and Rules: The instructor will provide important information about safety in the water, such as how to deal with currents and waves. Sand Techniques: Before entering the water, the instructor will teach you some basic sand techniques, such as how to position yourself correctly on the board, how to paddle and how to stand up from the board. Practice in the Water: With the basics learnt on the sand, it's time to get into the water! Students will practise what they have learnt, initially in shallow water, where the waves are smaller and gentler. Progression: As students gain confidence and improve their skills, the instructor can take them to areas with bigger, more challenging waves. Having fun: The surf lesson is, above all, a fun experience! Closing and Feedback: After the lesson, the instructor usually brings the group together for a short closing session.
