Ohana Surf Project’s family lesson option is an affordable way to get your family together to help everyone become better surfers. Our family lessons offer that perfect mix of individual attention in a team environment. Everyone improves and everyone has fun. Family lessons require at least one child 12 or younger and one of their parents. Other family members may be added to the lesson. Children 6 or younger may be required to be on a private lesson but will still surf together with their family.

Jump on the Surf School Bus and we will get you from wherever you're staying in Waikiki to the beach and up and riding! We offer a complimentary courtesy shuttle. Our knowledgeable staff will meet you at one of our convenient hotel pick-up locations. You’ll be stoked to ride in our air-conditioned, clean, easy-to-spot yellow Surf School Bus or white shuttle with our logo on the side. After our friendly staff introduce themselves, we will shuttle you to our Ohana Surf Centre located in the Waikiki Beach Marriott. From there you will get checked-in, geared up, will watch our safety presentation and then will be shuttled to the beach for some surfing!

Once by the ocean, you will meet your instructor and talk about your previous experience, swimming strength or any other concerns or conditions, then we’ll have you walk your high quality lesson boards to the beach. When you’re comfortable and ready, we leash ourselves to the board and into the water we go!

When we get to the sand, we conduct our land lesson. We’ll walk through the basics of the surfing experience and then have you practice a few times before you get into the water. If you have mastered the basics or progressed in your surfing, we will instead work on the next step in your training. After the lesson, you’ll be taken back to the Ohana Surf Centre where you can check out photographs, videos, or buy some merch for yourself or friends. Then after your purchases are made, we drive you back to one of our convenient drop off locations.
