What you can expect

Begin your tour with one of the true classics: a flaky butter croissant made fresh from one of the city’s best-loved bakers. Here, you’ll also enjoy a taste of homemade sourdough bread and hear more about the family who runs this local favourite.

Naturally, macarons should be at the top of the menu for any visit to France. Your next stop will take you to a master chocolatier for some tasty treats to kick off the tour. As a Meilleur Ouvrier de France – a title awarded to only the best in their craft – you can be sure that his are some of the best quality chocolates in the area.

It's time for a lesser known but equally delicious snack at a local food market: chickpea pancakes. Afterwards, you’ll be guided through Paris’ Jewish quarter on a short historical walk. As you explore a century old shop bursting with regional delicacies, you’ll hear more about the Jewish history of Paris. Enjoy some unique pastries in a family-run bakery, then get an insight into how the French shop for produce, all while tasting a delicious selection of cheeses and cured meats.

Originally opened as a protest against fast food, at the next restaurant you'll try some delicious French onion soup and learn more about the menu, which consists of locally sourced ingredients and dishes made from scratch.

Journey onwards to a pastry experience like no other! Mixing Syrian flavours with French patisserie techniques, you’ll visit a French-Syrian baker who crafts delicious pastry ‘nests’.

It wouldn’t be right to finish without a glass of wine! Your last stop will take you to a spot specialising in natural wines. Here, you’ll meet the owner and hear about this fascinating world.

Our tour guide was Anais and she was knowledgeable, and funny. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone’s first visit to the Louvre.

Our food tour of Paris was not only delicious but fascinating in both the historical and cultural information that our guide Amehd (please note that I spelled his name correctly) imparted during the tour. He was charming, witty and incredibly knowledgeable, not just an interesting guide but an amiable host and entertaining companion. The places he took us were all amazing — and almost none of them were places we would ever have found on our own. He also struck a very nice balance between sweet and savory, from onion soup to macarons, from chocolates to wine and cheese.

This was a well-thought out food tour. I enjoyed so much tasty food from croissant, macarons, chocolates, crepes, boeuf bourguignon, cakes, cheese and wine. Our tour guide, Simon, was delightful and told us very interesting stories about Le Marias. My tummy was so full at the end of the tour so be sure to come hungry. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide David led us on a remarkable tour through the Marais section of Paris. He shared historical and cultural stories while we walked and then stopped to enjoy culinary treats. The foods we tasted ranged from north African chickpea crepes in the market to luscious onion soup in a brasserie to street food in the Jewish quarter to chocolates and macrons and tarts from distinguished shops. Our small group made it easy to ask questions along the way. The only drawback was considerable standing as we sampled the foods. However, this tour is a great way to learn about an amazing city and its culinary delights.
