Tortuguero Village
Tortuguero Village is a little town situated on a rainforest-backed sandbar where sea turtles come to nest. At one point the town was a remote fishing village among coconut and cocoa plantations. You’ll be amazed by these creatures – the Leatherback, the largest living turtle species, averages 6 to 7 feet long and can weigh up to 1500 pounds!
