The tour starts with a short briefing introducing the islet’s geology and wildlife, the nature reserve’s, and boat safety. Follow the Guide and Skipper to your designated boat for 5-minute travel by sea to the Islet.

A beautiful exposed relic of an oceanic volcanic cone and unique wildlife-thriving maritime sanctuary sculpted by the forces of sea and seismic activity, for Birds and Fish to even Lightfoot Crabs, it is especially life-rich from Autumn to Spring! It is also a prominent influential factor in Vila Franca do Campo and the island’s history, a representation of the resilient embrace of life on the edge of the Atlantic. After a 40 minute boat tour it is time to head back to the Marina for check-out. Know before you go: Eat light, and bring your personal water supply, sun cream and chapstick for the Sun. Light food is permitted, and a Camera is essential, especially for photography lovers - protect any personal equipment. NOT FOR anyone pregnant, with weak back, in wheelchair or delicate health conditions, or under the age of 4. Swimming is not permitted on this tour.
