What you can expect

Frolicking dolphins, scampering monkeys, and snapping crocodiles form the lively surroundings for your cruise through the rivers of the Santubong Peninsula. Explore the mangrove-lined mouth of the Santubong River, glimpse a wide array of wildlife, and watch as dusk brings new life to the scene.

After a ride from your hotel to the Sarawak Boat Club, leave the land behind as your boat motors out along the Santubong Peninsula in the afternoon light. The waters of the Santubong River contain a diverse ecosystem with a rich variety of life, offering you the opportunity to spot some of the world's most endearing sea mammals, including the Irrawaddy dolphin.

Roam further past the mouth of the river to visit winding mangrove-lined estuaries on the lookout for Borneo's wildlife. Keep watch in the fading light for a great view of long-nosed proboscis monkeys swinging from the treetops on the water's edge.

When the night falls, let torchlight lead you through the waterway as you pass by the river's banks. Dusk is the domain of crocodiles, which are often seen on the mud banks, and fireflies gather around the boat as you head back to the jetty.
