"If you do not like loud humming noises every five minutes, never let them assign you room 327. I was initially given this room and told it was an upgrade, but it was like being underwater on a cruise ship at the bottom of an interior courtyard, and the room backs up to an elevator shaft that goes to the apartments above the hotel. "Fantastic boutique hotel that is about a 3-min walk from Grand Central. Midtown hotels I've stayed in recently have all felt really overpriced and dingy - this was a notable EXCEPTION to that rule. The room was clean, modern, and spacious (the bathroom was a bit small, but that worked fine for me). The staff was friendly, and if you are looking to stay in Midtown, the location is unbeatable.
