The hotel itself is very good with a nice restaurant and separate bar. There are restaurants in the area, which were good, but the area has countless homeless people wandering the area, taking over sidewalks near the hotel, and the plaza across from the hotel. It did not feel terribly unsafe, but when mentally challenged or addicted i dividuals are walking around, yelling at nobody, and taking over parks and sidewalks, it makes one wonder how safe the area is. Again, the hotel is great, but the area? Not so much.

The balcony is worth ot, especially as Portland has a bit of a homelessness epidemic at the moment. It was nice to take in the view of the city from a slightly removed perspective. Staff is friendly and professional. Valet was also worth it.

Everything was great overall, except we paid for late check out and ended up getting locked out of our room after normal check out time instead of it updating automatically. That would be a nice customer service aspect to consider revising. After going all the way to the top floor and not being able to get into our room, calling down to the desk for help and being told we would have to come back to the lobby and get new door cards, was rather inconvenient. Everyone was pleasant though and we liked the room and restaurants.

The light festival went on during my stay it was an inconvenience but they let us know , but still had no scope as to how much of an inconvenience it was… but it was nice to see once I was finally able to get back to my room
