"Unexpected and a well preserved relic of the past! Felt like we were transported back in time. Amazing location, beautiful views, big rooms, great baths, many amenities and conveniences. Staff were helpful, efficient and polite"
"The property was good, but the check-in process was ridiculously over-complicated and extremely annoying. Needing to provide photos of your passports, yourself, all of your guest’s information and then also having a video call is not worth the trouble. And it’s not like this place was cheap. It is much easier to just stay in a hotel and not deal with all this headache."
"Hagi Yado no Tomoe is an elegant traditional inn. While the outside is pleasant and clean, once inside you will enter a rare and elegant world. The facilities are immaculate and it is clear every decision is made with exceptional taste. The staff are polite, extremely kind and respectful of privacy. The rooms are gorgeous, and the multiple course Kaiseki dinners are delicious and incredibly beautiful. They also have a lovely selection of local pottery on display for sale. Today,upon...
"Staff were very kind. The Kaiseki dinner was superb.
Although we did not use the public bath, the private bath reserved was great and our bodies felt less sore after a long dip. "
"Other than the room is small. It’s quite a pleasant stay. Enjoyed the spa area. And there’s a Macdonald right next to the hotel, in case you are craving for a burger. "
"This is an old school honestly, but with nicely separated living spaces (shred bathrooms). Not squeaky clean, and a bit outdated…but human and not without charm. The owner is a super courteous dude. You may need a car as it is a few kilometers 40 minute walk from the train station. The payoff is the silence and chill vibes out here. I enjoyed my stay.

Today, upon departure, I did their sake brewery tour. The guide and staff driving couldn’t have been nicer, and the sake master was so down to earth and kind. I also enjoyed a sake tasting and purchased a small bottle to take home. After the tour they recommended a lovely place for lunch, making sure I knew where to catch my but to return to Yamaguchi City. While in Hagi I particularly enjoyed my visit to Toukouji Temple and the surrounding area. My stay at Hagi Yado no Tomoe was delightful in every way. I hope to return."
"Hotel Masuda was a very nice hotel. Staff were friendly, our room was spotless and comfortable. The dinning options were really good. The dinner we had on the first night was delicious. The location was easy to find and only a short walk to the station. I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel. "

"Worth every cent we paid as it had two large beds and plenty of room to move around. The small breakfast was good to start the day of and the free parking was close by."
