"The hotel had a lovely atmosphere with well chosen antique furniture. Staff were both helpful, polite and efficient. Happy to help with a last minute change of booking and also room change to allow us a quieter room on our last night. Breakfast was very good with a great range of cereals and fruit. The homemade fruit yoghurt was a nice surprise Locally sourced food was evident in the cooked breakfast. This is a great hotel handily located close to restaurants and shops."

"Friendly hotel with good location to explore Ambleside. Dog friendly and even though dogs are not allowed in the restaurant they set up a table in the lounge for you so your dog can accompany you and provide table service. Catered to my needs being gluten free and requiring soya milk and even made my decaffeinated coffee just how I liked it. Will definitely stay again 😄 xx"

"Fabulous location with lovely walks in many directions right from the doorstep. Nice room with great en-suite and lovely Bath House toiletries. "The house itself was very beautiful and impressive with lots of character which suited the old village of Hawkshead. The spiral stairs and semi-circular landing were charming features. The rooms were so very clean and comfortable - with lovely new beds. Clean, fresh and spacious bathroom too - with a powerful shower. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. Parking was available at the back...

"We went as a family of 4 and our stay was great. No problem at all except we got a bit cold at night, but that’s it! Everything else was great. We got free parking just up the road courtesy of the b&b management and breakfast was also included, which wasn’t mentioned on the initial booking. So bonuses all round really!"

"Lovely coay B&B. Decor is modern but in theme with the lake district. Lots of little home comforts included. The owners are very friendly and cant do enough for you. Breakfast was very good and all cooked to order with a hige range to choose from. Rooms are lovely and its in a great location. free parking too which is a big plus point."

"Lovely BnB. Darren couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. The room was clean, bed was huge and very comfy. Shower was lovely and the breakfast was very very good. The village is so beautiful and only a short drive from Ambleside. We stayed 2 nights, but after arriving very late and leaving early we only had 1 day to see as much as possible and Darren gave us great recommendations. I loved my stay here."

"The location was very good & the hotel provided a parking permit for the pay & display car park across the street. Room was small which was fine but the en suite bathroom is not even a little bit sound proof so doesn't leave much to the imagination! The water pressure for the shower wasn't great & the water stopped intermittently whilst in the shower. Breakfast was nice but limited to full English, salmon & scrambled eggs or pancakes with maple syrup. "
