"Way overpriced for what you get. Paid 3361 NTD. Very run down and dated. Room was stuffy and smelled mouldy. Rubbish and stuff piled everywhere. Staff tried to charge me again. Owner is friendly and chatty. Breakfast was a delicious Taiwanese delight. Hot Springs were very ugly. Do not serve dinner any more. Very far from anything. "Small room but with the amenities of a much more expensive hotel. Incredibly good price. Apparently, every room has a balcony and mine had gorgeous views of the mountains. After all, this town is at the foot of Yu Shan mountain—also, the collision of two tectonic plates over by the river. Cutest town on the east coast? Low-key, uncrowded (unlike many villages here), incredibly easy scooter or bike rental at the train station. The hotel also has bicycles for guests…I’ve heard the Yuli hot springs...
