"This property offered value for money - it was cheap. In its heyday, it must have been a very nice hotel but maintenance has fallen behind over the years. The common areas are fine but the rooms and exterior/grounds are very tired and badly need to be updated. Perhaps the owners can't afford it - there were only 4 guests booked in on the night we stayed."

I looked online before I booked and there was one negative review saying the hotel was being refurbished (April 2019 from memory) and I assumed it would be completed. Oh I was wrong. Apart from a lovely looking pool (apart from The destructed building to one side covered by a net) that was very dirty as the staff didn’t clean it until I asked and the spa that looked amazing (only from the outside) every part of the hotel is still...

"Very quiet when we stayed so lacking atmosphere, particularly in the the restaurant. The service in the restaurant was excellent but reception was less helpful, except the lady who seemed to be the manager. Room was nice but could easily be updated to a much higher standard. Lots of monkeys, and they get up close, we quite enjoyed watching on our veranda but others might be put off by. "
