Whether you’re camping in the adjacent Apache Family Campground or simply seeing the sights of Myrtle Beach, a visit to Apache Pier is fun for the whole family. A white-sand beach spreads out from the pier. Be sure to build time in your schedule for playing in the sand and waves. Rent a beach chair and umbrella from the fishing shop on the pier.
When it’s time for lunch and a cold drink, Croakers at the Pier awaits. This full-service restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Atlantic. Savor locally caught shrimp, a juicy flounder sandwich or a burger. For lighter fare, stop at the snack bar on the pier.
Stay during the summer for the nightly live entertainment. Every show on the calendar is family-friendly, so bring the young ones along for line dancing, grooving on the beach and even karaoke. Summer typically also offers children’s activities, such as tie-dyeing and crafts.
Apache Pier is near the dining and live entertainment attractions of Barefoot Landing and the downtown Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Add the 1.2-mile-long (1.9-kilometer) promenade to your Apache Pier visit for its festivals and events throughout the summer.
Get to Apache Pier through the Apache Campground entrance, about 9 miles (15 kilometers) northeast of downtown Myrtle Beach. Nearby parking is available for fee. There’s a fee to walk the pier the fee is higher when live music is playing. Children have free access.
