"The hotel was an easy 100-15 minute walk from the train station and was conveniently located. The room was comfy and I enjoyed the public bath - though it lacked the mineral waters of an onsen it was still relaxing after long days of walking. They stored our luggage after checkout and the staff was very friendly. "

"Pleasant staff. Lovely lobby with delicious desserts. Beds were a bit hard for my liking but that is a personal preference; our friends liked them. Small rooms but typical. Had nice shower. Town is not as tourist friendly as other areas so plan ahead for meals; many places don’t seat foreigners unless you are invited. We are convenience store foods. The American Burger restaurant seated us at lunch though. The castle is amazing and the mountains are spectacular."

"Convenient for public transport and the castle was within walking distance. Unfortunately i was given a smoking room which stank like an old ashtray. The room was heavily nicotine stained and even after using freshner it still smelt.the Free breakfast was limited in choice and not topped up, so first in best selection. The staff are friendly and helpful and i will stay here again but i will specify a non smking room."

"This is a little gem of a place! Takeru-san is a wonderful and kind host. The space is warm and welcoming, clean and bright. Our Japanese style triple room was peaceful and so comfortable. The shower is great. We met other travelers in the common area. I think this might have been my favorite stay in Japan. I would come back here just to stay at Couch Potato 😀. Thank you to the hosts!"
