"For me, it was an excellent choice because I don’t mind walking 17 mins to the hotel from the station.
The room was in a tiny side, but it doesn’t really matter as I only want to sleep.
The cleanliness cannot be faulted and the breakfast was good. There were plenty to choose from. "
"Walking distance from the train station thus the major commercial area, but while the hotel is clean, it’s dated. Yes all the photos of rooms are realistic but things are from the ‘90’s. "
"Mattress was way too hard. So it wasn't really comfortable.
But the location was nice. Really convenient. Close from the station and the city center.

"I really enjoyed staying here. Great location close to JR station and short walk to the castle. The rooms were clean, spacious and as an extra, they offered free ramen or desert for all guests."
"Hotel Morschein was a lovely place to stay! The staff were very warm and friendly; the room cozy and just the right size. The view was pleasant, and I was within walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go. "
"The rooms were very clean and the location was excellent. We were a short walk from the train station and also a nice walk to the Matsumoto Castle. The only negative experience was the free breakfast which was styrofoam dinner trays, individually wrapped croissants and a Japanese style breakfast which we did not find appetising. We did not participate and ate elsewhere."
"Stayed in a non- smoking room. It seems the room may have previously allowed smoking as there was a residual smell. Extremely friendly staff and great breakfast. Right next to the station."
"Very convenient for the station. Free washing machines and snacks by the onsen, which was also excellent. Helpful staff. Breakfast area a bit smallbut breakfast itself was good. Lots of choice"
"狭いけれどよく手入れされた部屋でした。何気ない朝ごはんでしたがご飯と水と味噌汁の美味しさに感動しました。
I stayed tiny and well organized single room for a biz trip. The free breakfast was excellent thanks to the local food and ingredients such as water, rice and miso."

"Room I stayed had beautiful view of ski resort, but it was very quiet, also how they arranged the bathroom and toilet and wash basins was very nice to shared by two persons and with privacy.
Also hotel offered very nice public bath, which I would like to recommand very highly.
However, choice of food could of been wider, but all and all this place was alot better located and offed better food than other hotels I stayed at Karuizawa before."

"Not sure where the -ve reviews are coming from but we absolutely had a good stay here. It's not right next to the train station but close enough, 5 min walk. There is shuttle service provided to the train station (outlet) and the ski centre.
For those driving EV, there is charging available."
