"The beds were not the most comfortable. Too hard, but also with annoying polyvinyl under the sheets. Maybe we were expecting a more well-kept beach in this 5-star resort. Comparing the beach with the neighboring, much smaller 4-star resort Sunnyside Apartments shows some of the weaknesses of the Falkensteiner resort beaches."

"We stayed for 6 nights at this hotel and thought it was excellent! We loved the atmosphere especially with our two children aged 3 and 8. The food was excellent and the facilities all well organised and very clean. The star of the holiday was the kids club - our children have never been to a children’s club while on holiday before but this time we could hardly get them out of it - amazing staff, very safe and well run with a full itinerary of varied and exciting activities for them to get up to as well as multiple academies! This was our first trip to a falkensteiner resort but we would definitely be keen to go again after this brilliant experience - thank you very much!"

Superb adults only resort with great food

"The hotel has been tastefully refurbished and is smart and clean. Rooms are a good size and are well equipped. The balcony, overlooking the garden, was a good size. The food was excellent quality with a selection of buffet items at lunch and a full evening menu well above usual hotel standards. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had an issue with one person and this was immediately dealt with- the management is really on the ball. There is no lift so customers with mobility problems need to be aware of this. The hotel is in a quiet area. It has its own grounds and a pool. However, you can also use the facilities in a neighbouring hotel. Access to the very clean beach is through the garden gate- there are also opportunities for coastal walks. "

"Has potential.. Went to bed that night and awoke to a strange scratching sound, my husband and I convinced ourselves it was wind rattling something outside. Back to sleep to wake to the same sound, he looked under the bed to find an actual mouse running away out of sight!! Just leaving behind a tampon it had stolen from a previous guest, some droppings and a gnawed headboard. Cutting our losses we moved to the living room to spend the rest of the night on a sofa bed. Upon inspection in the morning we also found mouse droppings underneath the sofa bed. Reported to reception in the morning, the staff were not overly apologetic and said they would send someone to catch it! I calmly told them I was not staying there with my two children. They agreed to swap us once someone had checked out later that day. We were moved to a much nicer (refurbished) apartment with working air con, however the apartment still hadn’t been cleaned well, with dusty and dirty skirting boards, hair blocking the drain, food left behind and a full dishwasher to empty. Service at the pool bar was slow, no one on site was overly friendly… such a shame, with better housekeeping and service it could be a winner. The location was great."
