Lola’s Cottage is a 2 bedroom cottage close to the shops and the centre of town.

Lola's cottage is a beautifully appointed two-bedroom cottage with neutral tones and country modern decor. Drenched in natural sunlight, this lovely cottage offers convenience, a brand new timber deck and a grassy backyard. Situated in the northern side of Broken Hill, a stones throw from Shelly’s corner store or a leisurely stroll downtown. Lola's cottage provides a home away from home; as soon as you enter, you will feel so comfortable.

The sun-drenched easterly aspect of the timber deck makes it a lovely spot for breakfast or a newspaper read. It has a good street presence and a fragrant garden. If you are sharing accommodation for work, the cottage has separate spaces that allow you to spend time alone. The internal areas of the cottage are floorboards and tiles, with the bedrooms carpeted.

The recently updated kitchen is very practical, with a gas stove, new appliances, and fresh cutlery and crockery updated at all times. A pod coffee machine is also fitted for the coffee lovers.

Lola's cottage is situation on a main street, and while some trucks pass during the day in a country town, it’s not a bother at all and the nights are tranquil quiet. The cottage is about 1.7km away from centre of town, which will not interfere with your stay and centrally located to all the attractions such as the pool, parks, gyms and restaurants.

A grassed backyard, and an external laundry, and a private entrance with a remote roller door access that is lockable and a covered carport for one car will complete your stay..

Lola's cottage offers extra comfort and technology with WI-FI, TV, as well as evaporated cooling throughout and fans in each bedroom. Gas heating in the main area which heats up the whole place, there are also heaters in the rooms. We can include sleeping blankets on request.

Tired place, inaccurate listiing
Advertised Amenities included outdoor BBQ so we brought food for that. There was no bbq. Tried to call host, had to leave a message, never got a response. Road trains rumbling past front door all night meant poor sleep as did the old and tired bed with pinging Springs in front room. Two of the tea towels were black with grease & filthy,. Accommodation for four people, but only seating for three in lounge room. Place was poorly maintained outside - looked like a derelict place with large weeds growing in driveway. Almost ran out of toilet paper. Automatic roller door for carport worked very intermittently - couldn't close it all weekendl. almost impossible to get 4wd ute into& out of carport. Had to park on street in the end. Way too expensive for what it is, would not stay again

Review of the property
Good location, easy access. Passing traffic at night could be an issue for some, but after all the property is situated next to a pretty major highway. On the plus side it was clean, tidy and comfortable. Good for a short stay and for exploring what Broken Hill has to offer.

Should Have Stayed Longer
Lola’s Cottage was perfect for our needs. It was cute, clean and comfortable. We had our small dog with us and the securely fenced backyard was a godsend. The cottage is a short distance to the middle of town and while it is on a busy road, at night the volume of traffic is much reduced and it is quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and worked as it should. The shower was good and the beds comfortable. We had a very enjoyable stay.

A great weekend with friends
It was a great weekend and Lola’s Cottage was lovely. The decor was smart. The beds were very comfortable, which is important and the heating, which was needed at night worked really well. Meant to leave a note but forgot sorry, about a couple of little things that didn’t really affect us but you would want to know about ..none of us could connect to the internet, the clock on the wall needs new batteries and the gas fire lighter for the stove needs replacing.

Superb base to stay in Broken Hill
The property has been partly renovated, the lounge and bed we used is very comfortable. Only minutes drive into the main part of town, there are many places to eat, drink, shop within walking distance if needed. Walking into the main part of town is flat and would be easy and pleasant. Whilst it is on a main road we didn't find that an issue, with the only noise coming from inconsiderate local traffic i.e noisy utes and bikes rather than trucks, so they would have been an issue in the side streets they came out of as well. This cottage was many times better than a motel room for roughly the same price, but we got two bedrooms, one at the back if you really wanted more quiet, a lounge room, dining, full kitchen, and most conveniently a laundry. Good wifi and more TV channels than you'll ever need. The guest folder was excellent, and there were two mobile numbers for the managers/ owners if required which is thoughtful and supportive. The shower and sink have quite minor leaks, and the shower extraction fan isn't effective, which would bother me if I owned it, but as a visitor that sort of damage isn't my problem, and were easy enough to live with. There is a new gas heater but it is unflued, so the smell of burnt gas builds up, along with the knowledge that carbon monoxide is building up along with other toxins, so we used it sparingly. You are supposed to leave a window open with these heaters which does my head in. Not really an issue outside of winter of course :) I'd like to visit Broken Hill again, and I'd be very happy to stay in this property again.

Janine was great to deal with and the property perfectly described. Recently renovated with many mod cons, we found it cosy and inviting. It handled two couples and extremely heavy overnight rain very well. Service shops were quite near by.

Perfect for our stay in Broken Hill
Lola's cottage was the perfect location for our Broken Hill stay. It is welcoming and practical so that we were able to have our small dogs join us on our trip. The backyard was fully enclosed so we were able to leave our dogs for short periods. The neighbourhood was perfect to walk in and the cottage very well equipped..

Lovely recently renovated cottage conveniently located
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely, comfortable, recently renovated cottage located minutes from the centre of Broken Hill - less than 5 minute drive or easy walk in to town if you prefer. The hosts provided excellent information on the property, great advice on placed to visit around Broken Hill, and good places to eat. The Tydvil Hotel is close by and had great meals. The hosts were also very responsive to any questions we had about the place. We would love to stay here again next time we come to Broken Hill.
