Hotel staff was very good and very supportive. They accommodated and helped with everything. Hotel has new building and old building so my response here is based on staying at old building. Room was too old, things were bit broken and it gave the feeling where nothing was updated or changed for years. Room were spacious but old furniture and space didn't help at all same with bathroom.
Clean and comfortable. Our room lacked bedside charger outlets and a tea kettle. It faced the parking lot on the ground floor and also lacked privacy. Otherwise quite nice.
The hotel has a ton of great communal spaces (a lounge, a game room, a relaxation room, and a hall connecting to the pool next door). Great place, and quiet!
Loved this place - has everything you could ever need. Literally has a game room and relaxation room with massage chairs. Full dining options, several beautiful, large communal rooms. Heated pool and the killer hot spring complete with Viking style changing house. Total Icelandic package in one stay - 10/10
Fantastic stop on our trip with a beautiful natural hot spring open all day, I was able to see Northern Lights from the nice warm water!!
Great experience, great people!

Liked: Staff & service
I would not recommend the restaurant, I ordered a fish that was not fresh
The Dala hotel is amazing and the staff so kind and accommodating. We were so cozy in our clean and lovely room. The pool was fantastic. The dinner was so delicious. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you to the staff for a most enjoyable stay.
If the main objective of a hotel is a place to sleep this hotel failed. Incredibly noisey hotel with doors banging all night due to the shared facilities. We checked out a day eairly and stayed at another hotel.
The building is a renovated old school, where the front half is clean and new, and back half is a dilapidated dormitory. The pool was nice and the historica hot spring was neat (pictured). The restaurant was also nice.
My room however was not clean, and filled with many files, which bit me when i tried to sleep. There were also a lot of drunk young men wandering the halls shouting at me, which was unnerving. It felt like a college dorm. The shared showers were not cleaned.
To the hotels credit, the staff did send a janitor to get the flies.
They originally had us in a room with a shared bathroom even though we paid for a standard room. They quickly and happily rectified. The room was great, clean and modern. Staff was friendly and the access to the hot springs was a great amenity.
Wonderful hotel. - Lots of hot springs and hot tubs, pool, big game room, big common room, superb restaurant (both dinner and a buffet breakfast), meditation room.
Beautiful refurbished old primary school with pool
Booked the Dala last minute and what a pleasant surprise! Beautifully renovated former primary school. Steps away from a natural thermal pool and connected to a large heated public pool, free ti use by guests.
