Spectacularly positioned, just 100 metres from the stunning Budgewoi Beach and directly opposite Slade Park and Budgewoi Lake, this outstanding single level, coastal retreat “Sandcastles” offers an idyllic escape within walking distance (450m) of restaurants, bars, and takeaways, that are all too important coffee shop and bakery.

Enter through the long drive into the established private tropical gardens. This charming bungalow set on its own grounds, creates a truly secluded feeling of simplistic seaside beauty, its tastefully updated interiors encapsulate multi-use, modern space and style. Escape from the treadmill of life and hear the sound of the sea from the back entertaining area. The enclosed back garden with a carport and a locked gate is ideal to help keep wandering children and dogs contained.

This holiday retreat has two expansive living and dining areas, one leading to the front entry and one leading to the back outdoor living/entertaining area and built-in gas barbeque. With delightful interiors and a fully equipped kitchen, ready to cater for the family or friends, it has a high quality modern double oven range, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and all the accoutrements you could want. The property benefits from two large lounge room areas, both with 50-60inch Smart TVs and NBN/Wi-Fi - this property can easily be used for a spot of work from home. The Back lounge benefits a large dining table to eat, work or socialise at and has air conditioning that easily flows through the whole of the house.

The two bedrooms are to the side of the property, each of which has been tastefully furnished, including top quality mattresses to ensure that relaxation begins from the moment you step inside and continues until departure. Both bedrooms enjoy an adjustable ceiling fan. The clean white bathroom is spacious and includes that all-important bath to relax in, as well as a separate shower. The recently updated laundry with a European washer also contains a second toilet.

Well behaved dog's welcome. Not on sofas or beds and please ensure rugs are kept clean.

Only 90 mins from Sydney CBD, 60 mins from Hornsby and 50 minutes from Newcastle.
Dog Beach is 100m away.
The Boat ramp to Budgewoi Lake is 400m.
The infamous Darren Smith Memorial Cycleway is directly in front of the property.

Enjoy activities close by such as Disc Golf or the golf driving range and of course, Toukley Golf Course is a few minutes' drives.
Beachcombers Hotel and Resort at Toukley is 8 minutes drive.

Note that in the front garden, traffic noise can be heard on occasion.

Not What the Photos Show
The kitchen and bathroom were clean on our arrival but the rest of the house especially the floors and carpets were filthy. There were no brooms, mops or working vacuum cleaners for us to do the cleaning. The outside areas were unusable because the backyard was poorly maintained and the front yard could not be used for children or dogs because the front gate was rusted and fallen over - being on a main road made this dangerous. The property was not cheap and other properties are offering better value and better maintenance for the money.

This is definitely not pet or child friendly. The backyard so overgrown & full of spider webs we couldn’t leave our dogs outside. The backyard seating area is full of spider webs & we didn’t feel comfortable sitting outside. If the front gate was fixed we could have at least let our pups out there but we couldn’t even do that. This was very very disappointing because the pictures on the website tell a different story. Be prepared & bring your own toilet paper, tea towels, hand towels, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, dishwasher tablets & I could go on. The other thing they don’t supply is manuals on how to use the oven or dishwasher. The place is tidy & the air conditioner works well. The bathroom is very nice. The 2 TV’s have all the digital apps so there is plenty to watch. The internet is fast & worked well.

A bit disappointing!
Property was not well maintained. The rear dog safe yard had one metre high weeds so pretty impossible for two small dogs to go to the toilet! Laundry toilet was blocked and therefore not usable. Air conditioning did not work and when we mentioned this to the agent, they already knew and had done nothing to repair/replace - so why advertise as air conditioned? Some windows would not open as rusted. Given these maintenance issues, not value for money staying at this property.

Beautifully renovated and decorated house near the beach
We had a really good long weekend at this property. The house is beautifully decorated and spacious. We didn't use the outdoor BBQ as it looked like it was in need of a good clean. The back yard was very overgrown with long grass and weeds in the gardens. Not the sort of yard kids could play in. The outdoor area and furniture really needed a good clean. One day was extremely hot there and the air-conditioner wouldn't work! It was extremely uncomfortable. We couldn't find a manual for it. Tried calling the agent but couldn't get through. We sent a text but got no reply. The bathroom is nicely renovated but the water pressure is really low! The main bed has a very soft mattress and the road noise can be heard if you have a window open. The location is great with the beach access just a street behind the house.
