The museum opened its doors in 1992 to facilitate cultural exchange between Germany and the rest of the world. The Bundeskunsthalle is located along Bonn’s Museum Mile, which features several of the city’s foremost museum institutions on one strip by the Rhine. Take the train to the Heussallee/Museumsmeile station, which is located a few minutes’ walk north of the museum. The Bundeskunsthalle is closed on Mondays and Christmas Day.
