Cahir Castle is a true survivor. Despite siege and bombardment it has endured for centuries, only to stand today as one of Ireland’s largest and best preserved castles. This imposing Anglo-Norman stronghold is a must-see for anyone intrigued by the county’s rich history.
Nestled deep in the County Tipperary countryside, on the western banks of the River Suir and just a little south of the Cahir Park Golf Club, Swiss Cottage is a rural house in every respect. Ireland has ancient stonemasonry in abundance, but it is rare to find such an excellently preserved example of a 19th century cottage as this one in Cahir.
