"We stayed 3 nights at Umami in Puerto Viejo. The hotel is lovely, quiet and set back from the main road through the town but still only a 5min stroll to the seafront. Room itself was clean and modern with AC. Breakfast was typical Costa Rican and served by the pool each morning which was great. Free parking right outside. I’d certainly return to the hotel and only have good things to say about our time there. One advice I’d give is to avoid the sister hotel’s restaurant (Num at Namu) - it’s...

"Great stay, good selection of food for breakfast. Could use more beach chairs at the pool. Like so often people put towels to reserve them and then aren't around for hours later. Frustrating! "

My friend got sick one of the days and they went above and beyond to help her feel better, constantly offering things to help and checking up on her every hour or so.
