"We had such a wonderful stay at Namu Garden & Spa! The location is beautiful—just a short walk to the beach and right in the heart of town, but it still feels peaceful and tucked away. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything about the space felt thoughtful and well cared for. What really made the experience special, though, was the staff. They were incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way—super responsive on WhatsApp and always willing to go the extra mile. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a great experience. We’re so grateful and would absolutely stay here again!"

"We had a wonderful time at Casa Luna House. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We loved the outdoor spaces and it worked out well for us to have the separate rooms downstairs, it gave my daughter and her partner privacy while I was upstairs with her teenagers. The only issue I had was that the coffee pot was unusable. The wet coffee grounds hadn't been removed from the previous guest and it was covered in mold. A through cleaning was needed. Having the beach just across the road and the constant sound of the waves was wonderful. I also really like the close access to a little store as well as the charming hotel Banana Azuel for occasional meals. I would recommend Casa Luna House to everyone. "

"We felt so lucky to have this beautiful home to return to after a day at the beach or hiking! The outdoor shower is ingenious, pool was refreshing, and the yard is plant paradise. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning in the bedrooms was so wonderful at night. We loved spending time cooking outside and listening to the geckos at night. Great communication with the property management company as well. Would absolutely recommend!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Buddha house! It was beautiful, bright, clean and the back yard was huge and lush with greenery. The house was very well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. (Tip: To get hot water in the kitchen, you have to run the bathroom sink at the same time, otherwise there is not enough pressure to get the hot water tank working.) It was a quiet location which was a nice change after having stayed in other towns where dogs were constantly barking and motorcycles were ripping up and down the roads. This Vrbo is a 5-minute drive to a black sand beach and 10-20 minutes to several other beaches, restaurants and shops. We got a pin drop to find the place and ended up having to message the host to get the exact location, but otherwise checking in was smooth. Be prepared to share the house with random insects, but that is the nature of places in Costa Rica, as houses are not completely sealed like they are in North America. We had tiny ants in the kitchen and I brought quite a few centipedes back outside but like I said, that's something to expect in Costa Rica. We were only planning to stay 3 nights, but we enjoyed the house and Puerto Viejo so much that we extended our stay to a full week. It was just as nice to lounge around the house as it was to go out and do things. I would definitely stay at this Vrbo again and just hope it will still be affordable when we go back to Costa Rica! It was a phenomenal deal for all that we got! "

"This property is run down. We showed up and the gate wasnt locking properly with an unknow time frame for repairs which made us feel unsafe for a number of reasons, including we have small children. It’s also Werth to note that the penthouse is very open and unsafe on a site on a third floor, which is not for children. Upon arrival, the property manager was not even sure if our room had been cleaned properly and the room was not ready, even though he showed up an hour after check in time. We also went to look at the pool and it was green and not maintained, which is one of the reasons why we booked this property because our children love to swim. We did not end up staying at this property because we felt it was unsafe and it was not as advertised. Be advised. "

"It was only a couple of nights - but what a gem of a place! The first thing you see coming in the gate is the lush & gorgeous tropical landscape - all the greens with pops of color from the flowers - even cacao pods! There are various outdoor ‘rooms’, spaces to sit alone or together - magic when lit at night. The kitchen is well appointed. Easy to cook. There even a nice outdoor grill space - though I didn’t use that. The bedrooms are comfy, with air conditioning unit that provides a nice respite from the Costa Rican heat. The beds are a bit on the hard side for my taste, but I had good sleep - if was not uncomfortable at all. Nice bathroom space with toilet separate from sink & walk-in shower. Good closet space as well as little bedside units. We did have to do some computer work - wifi is good. Had no problems working and conducting video calls. If you have the ability to be a work-nomad, this is THE place to go! There’s a desk in the room with plenty of places to plug in/power up. There also a larger ‘office’ room. Me? I chose to work outside with a view of the plants, the pool, the humming birds, the occasional iguana & toucan. The best thing? Taking a break from work to just float in the pool. The Caribbean sea & beach is a short walk away, as is a nice little grocery. We’ll be back - for part work-nomad & part adventure. Lastly - when you go, make sure you float in the pool during a tropical downpour. It is awesome"
