Pebbly grains and natural rocky outcrops form the scenic face to this slice of tranquility in the southern surroundings of Lloret de Mar.

With its serene setting and pristine terrain, Cala Boadella Beach is a relaxing cove that takes you away from the bustle of city life. Initially a nudist beach, the sandy strand is today a blue flag site that is popular with all types of vacationers. Admire the spectacular vista of the rocky bluffs that stretch out into the shimmering blue sea.

Let your kids enjoy clambering over the rocks as you wander out into the clear water with them. Bring snorkeling gear and check out the range of colorful fish swimming at your feet. The beach is about 820 feet (250 meters) long. Walk from one end to the other, passing various picturesque rock formations on the way.

Relax on the beach and enjoy a picnic with your friends, while listening to the soothing sound of the waves beside you. Play with your kids in the sand, which is comprised of coarse grainy pebbles.

Stop at the beach bar and enjoy an exquisite view of the water over a few cocktails or beers. You can also get snacks and small meals here. Stay into the evening and watch the sun go down, producing a glorious red sky.

Note that the beach can get fairly busy in the summer, particularly on weekends. It is free to enter and open to the public at all times. Wearing clothing is optional here, so expect some nudists to be present on the beach. Lifeguards patrol from early May to mid-October starting in midmorning and ending in early evening. Footbaths, showers and beach lockers are available.

Find Cala Boadella Beach in the southwestern outskirts of Lloret de Mar. Rent a car and drive southwest from the heart of the town to get here in less than 10 minutes. Drop off your car at nearby Santa Cristina’s Shrine and walk down the dirt road about 650 feet (200 meters) to the beach.

While in the area, make sure to stop at other destinations, such as Platja de Fenals, Gnomo Park and Cala Treumal.
