"The small houses were very cute. The stuff was very friendly. The first A/C didn’t work, so we got another room. The shower Is cold, sometimes there is a short time of hot water, really hot water, you can’t stay underneath that hot water, so you have to wait and take a cold shower. "Property is beautiful but ocean wasnt friendly to swim in. The pool is nice with a waterfall. Breakfast was basic and one morning weiners were offered as the only meat option. Next morning only eggs bun and juice. We left a day early due to all the rain and we stayed end of Jan beginning of feb (dry season)."

"OK. This place is not for everybody, but I LOVED it. Don't expect AC, or super luxury, but a true Costa Rica experience. Super friendly French owners. You will feel like home and they will treat you like family."

"We enjoyed our stay. All staff were very friendly and extremley helpful. One slightly bad thing that happened was that on their end our reservation was listed for Tuesday through Thursday instead of Sunday through Tuesday. But they rectified the situation and gave us a bogger room. "

"We stayed here last year and were happy to return. We booked one of the 3 bungalows in the owners garden. The bungalows are basic but comfortable with plenty of wildlife - raccoons and monkeys visit most days and humming birds everyday. To sunbathe you need to visit the National Park (a small donation required) which is 3 min. away and has wonderful beaches and walks through the rain forest - watch your bags as the animals will try and steal any food in them. "We only got to stay at Hotel Banana Azul just one night but had a very nice time. We came in late and was greeted by Genesis at the reception. She made us feel right at home and showed us to our bungalow on the other side of the property. We opted to have breakfast in the shared dining area and were helped by Maria. Food was wonderful and it was very pleasant chatting with Maria who gave us some helpful travel recommendations for the Viejo and Cahuita Beach areas. We couldn't stay a second night on account of all the rooms were already booked. Too bad! But, we will definitely come back to Hotel Banana Azul next time we're in the area."
