"People at front desk charge you a double tax. If you question it they say is a government thing.... When is clearly stated eveywere passport with a tourist visa is exempt from this tax.. Hotel dont care they charge you anyway...."

"Very convenient to historic Cuenca via tranvia (inexpensive electric cable car) and only a 2 block walk to a very good. large grocery store where there are also a few casual eating, pharmacy, clothing, etc shops. A walk into town is only 15-20 minutes for a good walker.2 large bedrooms, kitchen, dining and desk/internet area. LOVE the full-size washer & dryer just off the kitchen and all kitchen appliances work. Plenty of warm covers on each bed, necessary because like many Cuenca homes, there is no heat. The host was always easy to contact and helpful.This is a secure location with very attentive, friendly doormen at the big car and pedestrian apartment complex gates. The people here are lovely, kind and helpful -- unless they are behind a steering wheel (pedestrians do NOT rule!). Try all the bakeries, candy/sweet shops and wide array of restaurants: Inca Lounge and Tres Pizza on the river walk, elegant Matilde's and the delightful 3-3.50 multi-course lunch spots that frequent downtown."

"We took an impromptu trip to the Cajas and fell in love with this property. We had a big group of 5 and they accommodated us with ease. It was easy to book, beautiful property, quiet, and so much nature. The workers were so nice and helpful. So many amazing people working together to make this place run. We did on site fishing which was so fun for the kids. The restaurant was warm and welcoming and the food was great. The view was even better. This location is amazing and I highly recommend it. An easy 30 min cab drive from CUENCA. "
