The area is popular for those keen on walking with various routes taking you through some of the most scenic countryside in the UK. Nearby Gisburn Forest is a brilliant base for walking, horse riding and mountain biking as well as fishing on Stocks Reservoir.
There is storage for bikes at the property and the winding country lanes will take you through the Ribble Valley. Your dog is welcome to join you on your stay and they are sure to have the holiday of a lifetime, exploring the surrounding countryside. The picture postcard village of Bolton-by-Bowland is 3 miles away, offering two village greens and a friendly local pub serving delicious food. The many picturesque rural villages within the Trough of Bowland including Slaidburn, Newton and Downham, to name just a few, can all be reached within 15 minutes, and all have a village pub.
Pendle Hill, and the historical story of the Pendle Witches can be reached within 20 minutes. The bustling market town of Clitheroe, which is considered to be the capital of the Ribble Valley, is just 7 miles away. Here, the streets are strewn with bunting and are home to a delightful selection of boutique shops, cafes, wine bars, pubs and restaurants.
