"Perfect for our late arrival in Costa Rica "

"1 complaint is the awful shuttle experience I had upon arrival. Was reserved on 2:30pm shuttle from SJO, but spent over 2 hrs & numerous unanswered calls to front desk, I was repeatedly told only via email the driver is "15 minutes away". This went on every 15 minutes for 2+ hrs! I didn't leave the designated pick-up area to avoid missing it the shuttle. I literally stood outside the airport (no seats for waiting), w/out a bathroom break, water, w/out applying my bug spray (very much needed during rainy season when mosquitoes are bad), & w/out air conditioning. I was tired, frustrated, & received false information for over 2 full hours from front desk staff that refused to answer my calls or call me back, but would only email me instead. I would've caught an Uber/Taxi, but was being consistently told that the driver was only 15 mins. I was told to wait under the Hotel Shuttle sign or the driver would leave & that he was in a gray/silver minivan. Over 2 hrs later, at 4:38pm, driver arrived in a dark navy BLUE van, & stopped at the airport exit doors, NOT at the Hotel Shuttle sign over 200 feet away. The advertised "20 min ride" to Barcelo was actually an HOUR & a half! Staff claimed no control of traffic, but my point was they live there, know daily traffic patterns & rush hours, they said it's normally heavy, so don't falsely say it's 20 mins. as if that is normal. Don't threaten $30 penalty for passengers missing the van, when no credit given to passengers that wait 2 hrs! "

"Affordable and clean hotel by the airport. Breakfast is included and it’s delicious. Also the shuttle runs every 15 minutes from the airport so that was very helpful. There’s a gift shop and a person that helps with yours. I stayed here twice and would keep returning"

"I’ve been coming for about almost 30 years to this hotel. Some rooms are great (upper hill located), but some near the entrance are less sound/noise proof. So you can hear everything other guests are speaking next doors. Even the water running! For the rest, the spring water temperature is great, you can choose from cold and hot. Breakfast service is great!"

"What a great resort! Nice decor, open design, friendly staff, great food, great complimentary amenities, & right by the beach! We opted for the all-inclusive option for our family of 4 & it was totally worth it! Our room was spacious with a kitchenette area that included a full size fridge. Their complimentary amenities include kayaks, paddle boards, boogie boards, bicycles, & FAMILY BOARD GAMES. We also loved the family center with pool tables, ping pong, & a small theater. The staff really makes you feel like you’re home. "

"Property is situated at the top of the hill in tamarindo overseeing the beach from room balcony. While the hotel is not closer to town / beach, they have shuttles that would take you to the town and to another beach front resort where you can lounge, chill and enjoy the beach. Overall good place to stay! "
