"Coober Pedy's scorching summer heat was no match for the cool comfort of our underground dugout! At a steady 23 degrees, it was a welcome respite from the blistering temperatures outside. Despite a sudden flash flood that swept through the town, our elevated dugout remained completely unaffected. "We were back after a 12 year hiatis. Very comfortable motel room with 2 bedfooms. It is dug into the hillside, which keeps it cool. There is also air con. "There was no soap available for washing hands, however the coffee machine and microwave were definitely handy. Also, we struggled with the pillows - they were very hard and big. It would have been good to have a couple of additional pillows as an option for use.
