If wanting a quiet beachside stay in Koh Samui then Mai Samui is the island's best kept secret. It has one of the biggest pools with one of the best swim up to pool bars, an infinity pool too. The Buffett breakfast is fantastic and with 2 beachside resturants a short walk, along with cheap as beach massage and excellent coffee cafe it's a slice of paradise. Two free daily shuttles to Chaweng & Nathon provide excellent transport options if seeking action. The resort Spa is a la la ...bliss ! The staff seem to have a motto of "guest you are valued". Families and those who prefer quietness need look no further than Mai Samui. We have been to Koh Samui 4 times and staying at Chaweng Resorts & Mai Samui and everytime our Mai Samui stay is our favourite and sigh of relief to be back in paradise !

Great resort, great staff. The transport van is VIP for a fare price. One thing I noticed but can't confirm is a little hustle at the onsight scooter rental. The price is fare for 24 hours, about $10. They are on island time for sure but when you call they answer and eventually come to the desk. The hustle as I see it is this: They rent the scooter with no gas. Option to buy gas on sight is more expensive than a gas station but it's convenient. Go to a gas station, fill up and ride around the whole island without using half a tank. Bring the scooter back. I think they drain that gas out to sell to the next customer. To me, that's just business. It's funny to me and smart of them. We are talking about a couple dollars. No scam a all. Just business on an island in Thailand. Great customer service. They didn't take pics of the scooters on departure or return. I assume they know if the driver comes in without a Samui tattoo they know the scooter hasn't been crashed. Pool was great, bartenders were awesome. Guy from Myanmar was great. Breakfast was full on legitimate buffet style. The few meals we had after breakfast were fine. Never had any issues on site what so ever. I'd love to go back.

A nice spot on a beautiful island. Large private villa complex, although beware the 3 bedrooms were all in separate buildings so not great if you have small children. Staff very accommodating. Lovely to have our own private pool.
