Admire the fascinating façade of glass and iron and examine the range of tropical plants in this replica of a London icon.

The Crystal Palace is the highlight of the scenic Curitiba Botanical Gardens. It comprises a majestic greenhouse of art nouveau design that resembles the former Crystal Palace exhibition center of London. Snap photos of the intriguing architectural gem, with a backdrop of dense woodland and a blue sky.

Appreciate the exceptional style, which consists of white bindings that hold together the panels of glass. In front of the structure is a colorful landscape garden of French design with bright yellow and red flowers and trimmed hedges. Relax beside the fountain and inspect the Amor Materno sculpture by the artist João Zaco. Walk through the verdant arches and climb up one of the twin sets of stairs that lead up to the greenhouse to enter the building.

Stroll between the floral exhibits in the spacious greenhouse, which has an area of 4,930 square feet (458 square meters). The display focuses on plants from tropical regions. See the transparent structure at night, when it is illuminated in green light. It generates an eerie glow in the park.

Explore some of the other features in this vast and impressive park. In the Garden of Sensations get to know around 60 types of plant, with your senses of smell and touch alone. Attend one of the artistic and scientific displays arranged at the Exhibition Hall.

Amble through the scenic park with your family and lay down a blanket for a picnic. Spot different types of frogs, opossums and armadillos among the wildlife here.

Note that the gardens, which are free to visit, open daily from early morning until evening.

The Crystal Palace is in the southern part of the Curitiba Botanical Gardens, which is located a little southeast of central Curitiba. Ride a bus to one of the many stops on the road that surrounds the large park. Visit other attractions in the area, including the Museu Botânico Gerdt Hatschbach, the Parque MikeWood amusement center and the Old Railway Bridge.
