Country House in Cumbria

"We were thrilled with our choice of Hillthwaite. It has a central location near to both Windermere and Bowness yet high enough on a hill to have views of Lake Windermere from rooms and public spaces. The hotel is beautifully organized with several public lounges: sun room, library, bar/lounge and restaurant–all of which feature Lake views, as well as outdoor terraces. "Lovely hotel gardens really pretty place. Great room good bed, stayed 1 night. We had dinner in the restaurant the Thursday menu, delicious. Special thanks to Claire who served us breakfast lovely person very accommodating. Great stay will go back."

"The staff were extremely friendly, and the room was acceptable with a good shower. The breakfasts were basic, and the dinners were pub style but adequate. The area is right in the countryside and the historic village church is well worth a visit"
