"I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and visiting Matera in general. The staff spoke great English, were onsite and were very friendly and personable. We were welcomed with a personal sign outside our door as well. It was walkable to everything you needed. The breakfast included was AMAZING (piano player in the background, sit down white table cloth, table service and plenty of food options). You could explore the hotel and all of the cisterns. "It is really a superb hotel. In Matera to be able to sleep in a room "cave" is quite special. The room #5 is large and had everything we needed except a big mirror. The only one was a small square one in the open bathroom above the lavabo and the lighthening was more romantic then useful there! I know it is not the same in every room as every room has a special design and decoration. The reception and the breakfast room are also beautiful. We loved the big terrasse where we could enjoy the sun...
