"The hotel is OK for the price, basic but in a pretty setting. However, it stated on the booking confirmation guests could call for check in after 6pm. Having called multiple times and never got a reply I got to the hotel at 10pm not knowing if I’d be able to check in or if I would have to find a last minute alternative. "The hotel has recently been created from an old schoolhouse and they have done a beautiful job. The entire place is immaculate and nicely appointed. There is a bar and restaurant on site which also has a buffet breakfast available. Staff was helpful and friendly. We have family in Schwelm so we will definitely stay here when we visit again and will encourage other family members to do the same."

"First class service, the staff were brilliant, had to leave early on last day prior to breakfast and the restaurant ladies insisted on making coffee to go. Dinner was excellent limited menu but first class food. The hotels location was a surprise a secluded woodland with no sight of the heavy industries of the area. Will certainly stay again next time I am in the area. "
