"Our villa faced the pool and was within walking distance to the beach as well. Our villa was spotless and spacious. Each villa had their own private outdoor shower. My only issue was the mattress wasn't firm but other than that our villa was fine. The staff were all helpful and friendly. You can hire snorkeling gear, paddle board, read a book or swim in the pool. We hired a car but I think there's a shuttle from the airport that can be arranged with the resort. There are tours available. Hoping to return with our children next time."

"Perfect and relaxing stay. The 1 bedroom beachfront room was comfortable and roomy. Good sun loungers in front of our room and a beautiful lagoon to swim and snorkel in. Saw turtles on two occasions while snorkelling. Meals at the restaurant were great as were the cocktails. Staff all friendly and helpful. Hope to visit again."

"The staff were very friendly and accommodating; the breakfast was good - everything from toast and eggs to cerral and fruit. The room was clean and comfortable. Perhaps the pool could use a little upgrading (broken tiles, cleaning around the tiles), but the pool water was clean for swimming. "

"The Lava Hotel is lovely place to stay. The Staff is welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The food is delicious. There is live entertainment on certain days. The location is in a village which gives the atmosphere you would want when trying to be absorbed in the Samoan culture. From the island’s warm breeze to its beautiful surroundings, you would be transported to tranquility. I highly recommend this hotel to any travelers looking for authenticity. "
